• A mother has to take unpaid leave from her job to care for hospitalized child who required heart surgery. The fund helped relieve some of the financial hardship.
• A family from NY came to Philadelphia to have their newborn who was born with a rare complex medical problem. The father traveled back and forth from work to visit while the mother stayed at the hospital with the baby, the decrease in income led to being behind in utility bills so the fund help keep their electric on.
• Rent paid for families who had to leave their jobs to care for children.
• A 14 year old had to get a lung transplant. Once again a parent had to leave their job to care for their child. The mother needed help with paying car insurance premium which the fund was a much needed resource.
• Patients who are receiving outpatient care and have to rely on public transportation, cab vouchers are a welcome gift after a long day of treatment
